HOW TO READ THIS MODEL

The system, explained.

The tapered wedge moves across the passage between angled annular seats. A rising stem connects it to the operating mechanism, while packing surrounds the moving stem. Explore the hollow body and bonnet, gasket and separate packing rings, then compare geometric closed and raised poses.

Model scope and limits

Original generic tapered wedge, hollow boundaries and conceptual packing stack. Thread crest is illustrative; internal nut threads, wheel-turn relationship, verified clearances, rated joints, loads, emissions, leakage and flow calculations are omitted. Travel is a geometric demonstration, not an operating or maintenance procedure.

GUIDED COMPONENT STUDY

Trace the system.

Read each explanation, then focus its component in the explorer. This is a learning route through the model, with no operating or maintenance sequence.

  1. Identify the bore and closure

The solid tapered wedge crosses the passage in the closed pose. Raise it with the travel slider to clear the bore. The control shows displacement only; it does not calculate leakage, flow or a safe operating sequence.

  2. Compare the wedge with its seats

Two annular seats face the tapered sides of the wedge. Their inclination illustrates the contact relationship. There is no verified tolerance, contact pressure, material pairing or sealing performance.

  3. Trace the rising stem

In this outside-screw rising-stem concept, the stem and gate translate together while the yoke supports the operating nut. The visible helical crest suggests a screw thread; its mating internal nut thread and wheel-turn relationship are omitted.

  4. Find the moving pressure boundary

Packing rings surround the smooth stem within the packing chamber. A follower and gland flange sit above them. The model has no packing-material specification, compression setting, emissions rating or adjustment procedure.

  5. Locate the body-to-bonnet joint

A separate schematic gasket lies between body and bonnet flanges, alongside fastener positions. Bolts, gasket and pressure boundary have no code rating or load calculation. The revealed view is for learning, not maintenance instruction.
