HOW TO READ THIS MODEL

The system, explained.

A disc-stack centrifuge places conical plates inside a rotating bowl. Alfa Laval explains that the plates provide separation area and that solids collect toward the bowl periphery; actual solids-handling mechanisms vary between designs. This original static model makes each plate selectable and keeps visible spaces between adjacent plates. Find the central feed illustration, inspect the stack, and distinguish the surrounding receiving region from the upper liquid boundary. Compare the separate plates with our decanter's continuous scroll. This is a component study, not a three-phase process simulation.

Model scope and limits

Original generic static teaching assembly with invented plate count, spacing and proportions. Peripheral boundary markers do not implement a discharge mechanism. No fluid-interface calculation, outlet purity, throughput, balance, speed, pressure rating, cleaning procedure, safe access or commercial-plant selection is represented. This is not manufacturer CAD or a product endorsement.

GUIDED COMPONENT STUDY

Trace the system.

Read each explanation, then focus its component in the explorer. This is a learning route through the model, with no operating or maintenance sequence.

  1. Reveal the complete closure

A whole hollow conical wall encloses the upper stack. Reveal or section exposes the plates for reading; neither control depicts a permitted operating state.

  2. Select a single conical plate

Disc 12 is one of 24 separate selectable annular plates. Its centre is open and its neighbours are spaced apart. The plate count, slope and gaps are original illustrative choices.

  3. Inspect the central distributor

A hollow gold tube has six radial openings near its lower end. A separate blue feed tube sits above it. These distinguish component regions without calculating a flow split.

  4. Find a separate liquid boundary

This upper annular region has a radial opening leading toward the blue outlet boundary. It lies outside the central feed tube. No liquid-interface position or purity is shown.

  5. Distinguish receiving from ejecting

The outer ring is a receiving-region illustration. Nearby radial markers do not constitute an intermittent or continuous solids-discharge mechanism.

  6. Find the support region

A separate annular bearing cue surrounds the static spindle below the bowl. It supplies no load, lubrication, alignment or balancing specification.
