HOW TO READ THIS MODEL

The system, explained.

Mined oil-sands ore contains bitumen, mineral material and water. Crushing reduces larger pieces before heated process water is added to form a slurry for transfer toward extraction. This original static assembly separates those roles through an invented open hopper, two toothed rolls, a chute and a mixing box. Follow the guided study from fixed ore cues to the water inlet and slurry outlet. The outlet marks a boundary toward hydrotransport and primary separation; neither a pump nor the downstream extraction plant is included. Crushing and adding water do not establish a purified bitumen product. Returned process water can contribute to the wider water supply, but the source, heating and water quality are outside this model.

Model scope and limits

Original static teaching assembly with invented geometry, proportions, material colours and machinery choices. Forty-eight individual tooth silhouettes, open hopper top and bottom, open transfer chute and mixing box, two actual wall bores and hollow connection boundaries are inspectable; four facing panels are removable only for study. Enlarged fixed ore lumps and a blue region marker do not measure grade, fragment size, moisture, composition, level, water ratio or flow. No operator/OEM CAD, drawing, artwork or product dimensions imported. The rolls and mixing box are not selected oil-sands machinery. No drive, crusher setting, pump, hydrotransport line design, water heating/treatment, chemical conditioning, duty, pressure, temperature, recovery, structural or access design, controls, safe operation, maintenance procedure or qualified installation. Process water is not established as potable or approved for release. Original authorship does not establish engineering or licensing approval.

GUIDED COMPONENT STUDY

Trace the system.

Read each explanation, then focus its component in the explorer. This is a learning route through the model, with no operating or maintenance sequence.

  1. Begin with mined ore

This enlarged fixed shape represents mixed ore arriving from the mine. Bitumen, mineral solids and water remain together; the marker is not fuel or a measured ore sample.

  2. Read the open receiving hopper

Four invented tapered panels surround open top and bottom boundaries. Their receiving role does not separate bitumen or establish storage capacity, a truck-dumping arrangement or access requirements.

  3. Identify the size-reduction role

One of two stationary drums illustrates an invented crushing choice. Reducing lump size differs from purifying bitumen. No selected crusher, drive, rotation, setting or throughput is supplied.

  4. Inspect an individual tooth

Each of the 48 tooth silhouettes can be selected separately. Their number, spacing and profile are original teaching geometry; they do not establish a commercial machine or a comminution result.

  5. Follow the prepared-ore route

The inclined open chute leads toward the mixing region. The smaller fixed ore cues still represent a mixture; the invented slope and location are not a conveyance calculation or a plant layout.

  6. Find the separate water input

The hollow inlet identifies water added during slurry preparation. Heating, recovered-water handling and make-up-water sources are upstream and outside this model. Process water is not established as potable.

  7. Look through the water connection

A real opening in the retained rear wall aligns with the water neck. The geometric passage does not prove a rated connection, supplied temperature, water quality or an approved operating state.

  8. Distinguish the blue teaching region

This shallow stationary plane marks water in the mixing region. Its colour, height and area are arbitrary; it is not a measured level, a selected water-to-ore ratio or a fluid simulation.

  9. Read the mixed-material cue

The fixed ore shape beside the water marker helps locate slurry preparation. Adding heated process water makes a mixture for transfer; bitumen and mineral material do not disappear or become a pure product.

  10. Stop at the slurry boundary

The hollow outlet meets a separate real wall opening and points toward hydrotransport and primary separation outside the model. Slurry still contains bitumen, minerals and water. No pump, selected pipeline, flow or downstream separation result is depicted.
