Flare-system path concept

Trace six static relationships through an original connected scene with a liquid knock-out drum, separate seal-vessel illustration and hollow elevated stack.

The two vessel models and hollow stack are independently illustrated roles at invented scales. No pilot, purge, gas seal, relief capacity, working liquid seal, combustion result or operating procedure is established.

HOW TO READ THIS MODEL

The system, explained.

The U.S. EPA describes flare-system gas collection, removal of entrained liquid in a knock-out drum, a possible downstream liquid seal and an elevated stack and tip. This original scene places two independently authored vessel models beside a new hollow stack illustration at invented scales. Follow the separate gas and liquid boundaries, inspect the actual stack-side opening and notice where the picture ends above the tip. The visible lines are teaching relationships, not piping, a relief system or a designed Alberta flare.

Model scope and limits

Original static 3D scene reuses two separately authored vessels and adds a new hollow two-module stack with a real lateral bore, open tip location, pilot-position envelopes, four open scene boundaries and six route cues. The vessels are rescaled and placed at invented positions, not selected for a compatible system. No actual gas collection header, relief source, purge supply, gas seal, pilot burner, ignition, monitoring, working liquid head, flashback prevention, stack height, structural calculation, pressure drop, liquid-removal duty, flare efficiency, emissions reduction, atmospheric dispersion, safe operating state or regulatory compliance is established. No product CAD, source artwork or plant dimensions imported.

GUIDED COMPONENT STUDY

Trace the system.

Read each explanation, then focus its component in the explorer. This is a learning route through the model, with no operating or maintenance sequence.

  1. Begin at the open collection boundary

The scene begins with an unresolved gas source. Real relief sources, header design and protection cannot be inferred from this marker.

  2. Follow gas toward liquid removal

This static line connects two roles but is not fabricated piping or evidence of line size, capacity or pressure loss.

  3. Inspect the knock-out drum

The separate original vessel has a hollow wall and named inlet, gas and liquid boundaries. It does not prove removal performance or upset capacity.

  4. Keep collected liquid separate

The lower open collar leads only to an unresolved liquid-handling boundary. Storage, pumping, treatment and disposal are outside the scene.

  5. Compare a liquid-seal role

The independent vessel illustrates an immersed inlet leg and static liquid plane. It is not a working seal or proof of flashback prevention.

  6. Find the real stack-side opening

The original lower riser has an actual lateral bore adjacent to a hollow inlet. The open geometry does not specify a rated joint or hydraulic behaviour.

  7. Look through the elevated tip location

The annular tip is open. Pilot-position envelopes are markers only; no burner, flame, ignition or combustion result is modeled.

  8. Stop above the tip

The final open boundary marks where the illustration stops, before emissions, dispersion and regulatory claims can be assessed.

CONNECTED PROCESS LESSON

Trace an illustrative flare-system path

Two independently authored vessels and a new original hollow stack/tip illustration at invented scales. Static routes and open boundaries show roles only; no engineered flare installation, protection or emissions result.

Color and static arrows identify declared relationships only. The model has no measured flow, live plant data or industry color standard. Treatment, pressure reduction, vapour handling, measurement, relief, shutdown, containment and disposal systems are outside this illustration.

Liquid removal before the stack

The separately authored drum offers a visible liquid-removal role. No sizing, removal result or upset capacity is established.

Elevated stack and open tip location

A hollow riser leads to an open tip location. The marker envelopes do not represent a functional pilot, flame or validated stack design.

Process vent gas enters

Actual relief sources, collection header and upstream controls are not represented.

Knock-out liquid to further handling

Storage, treatment, levels, pumps and disposal are outside this scene.

Seal-vessel liquid to further handling

Read each connection.

Start and end labels are backed by the same port registry used to generate the 3D routes. Ports and routes are invented; geometric agreement is not engineering validation.
